What is the biggest adversity you have had to overcome and how did it impact you?

Dealing with Colon Cancer and divorce in the same year as having my beautiful new home foreclosed upon. I was devastated emotionally and had to dig really deep and decide if I was going to throw in the towel or fight the biggest battle of my life. When you find yourself with a husband who had a substance abuse problem, who was living a life of lies and deception, have two children who are clueless, you have to step up to life’s reality and decide which path to walk down. Decisions I made for myself and my children were not the most popular among friends and family but once I made that commitment, I just listened to my heart and found a heap of strength I never knew I had.I realized that without complete honesty to myself, I would be no value to anyone. I seized the unpopular belief system I had regarding to my health issues, and found those with similar beliefs to help guide me back to health.

What accomplishments are you most proud of?

Being a great mom even though I made many mistakes I would redo if I had the opportunity. Starting my own restaurant Culinaria Gourmet Café when I had no experience in that field and making it successful and winning awards including a Wine Spectator Award.

Becoming a National Sales manager for an environmental company that did over 5 million dollars.

Creating NuTrend Design a silk screen design company that sold to stores across the United States and Fire Rock Design that sold to many National Catalogues home accessory items.

Now I am so excited to come back to my cooking roots and be a member of the United States Personal Chef Association, and finally enrolling in Clayton College of Natural Health to receive my Batchelors degree in Holistic Nutrition so I can help people with their health issues

What are you most passionate about?

Health and wellness. I have seen so many dark roads losing my mother to Cancer at age 65, my brother’s death at age 47 from ALS( Lou Gerigs Disease) and my father dying from lung cancer. It is my passion to educate people on conscious eating and how it relates to your health. Also never giving up and believing in yourself that you can change situations with lots of hard work and surrounding yourself with positive people.
